Materials Used in Construction

Like all craft made by AIRE, the Sea Tiger inflatable kayak uses the patented AIRECELL bladder system using 14-mil clear urethane tubes, which is enclosed by a tough 24-oz PVC-coated outer shell. The base fabric is 1100 denier to reduce the risk of tears or punctures. All seams are radio frequency welded (not glued), and the bladder zippers are rated at 10 times the force exerted by the recommended inflation pressure. Other features include a self-bailing air floor and Leafield B-7 valves.

This self-bailing AIRE model features a rudder to help with maneuverability and tracking of its 18' hull. The paddler in the rear can steer using the foot pedals mounted inside the boat. The cable and foot control rails are pre-installed; the user will need to attach the foot pegs and the rudder assembly. A bungee cord is included for the retractable rudder.

AIRE backs its crafts with one of the best warranties in the business. If there is ever a problem with workmanship, send it back to AIRE and fix it free, and even pay for shipping. This is a great American company located in Idaho that stands behind every kayak and raft they sell.

Feedback from Current Owners

The AIRE Sea Tiger inflatable kayak gets an A+ in most reviews and is universally praised for its great quality and workmanship. It is specifically designed for flat water, and for taking a larger payload of up to 700 pounds, which works well with two adults and their gear. Because of the semi-permanence of the rudder pedal location due to the length of the steel cable running inside the boat, the rear paddler is limited to how far forward he/she can sit. The forward paddler has the more adjustable seat as far as location is concerned. Unlike the SuperLynx, it is more difficult to put a third paddler in this craft so take that into consideration before making your selection.

What We Say

The price is high – about $2,375 – on the AIRE Sea Tiger inflatable kayak, but if you want a complete sea touring craft to take all over the world or just down to the lake, this beauty will perform every flatwater job wonderfully. It provides an especially good platform for scuba diving and snorkeling. However, if you want a more versatile boat that can handle some whitewater, it is recommended you go with the Super Lynx which is 4 feet shorter than the Sea Tiger.
