The Airis Velocity Inflatable Kayak: A Top Performer for Touring

With its sleek skin hull, the 12' Airis Velocity inflatable kayak is designed for paddling efficiency and cutting through the water. It has a bow keel and a foot-long rear skeg for consistent tracking and performance. It will get you to where you want to go faster, more comfortably, and with less fatigue from paddling.

A Look at the Kayak

The Airis Velocity inflatable kayak features a Sleek-Skin™ Hull Design for high speed paddling. Inside the yak there are integrated footrests to assist you in producing powerful paddle strokes. It also has an integrated bow storage compartment similar to what you would find on a hard shell kayak, and bungee cords on the back for securing gear. This $1,599 model is designed for day touring in lakes and the ocean.

The Airis Velocity comes with these accessories:

An AirPack™ deluxe portaging backpack, high-pressure air pump with gauge, repair kit, and an owner’s manual. (Note: Paddle and adjustable seat are sold separately.)

Solid Construction

The kayak is made with a patent-pending AirWeb™ High Pressure Construction, which is formed from a 7-layer polymer coated fabric with drop-stitch fibers. This heavy duty material allows the tubes to be inflated to more than 6.5 PSI or 0.45 bar, which can be as much as six times the pressure of other brands’ inflatable kayaks. That’s why the frameless hull looks and feels so rigid! With additional material built in to high-wear areas, the hull of the Velocity is highly resistant to abrasions, tears, and scrapes.

Sporty and Fast

Reviews on the Airis Velocity rate it good to excellent for rigidity, portability, ruggedness, speed, tracking, design, and comfort. The inflatable kayak rates as fair to above average for compactness, stability, and maneuverability. The narrow tapered bow, extra-long skeg, and 12' length make the Velocity the fastest in the Airis fleet. It’s comfortable and good looking, and we think you’ll agree that it is by far one of the more innovative designs for a high-end model. The Airis Velocity inflatable kayak is one of our favorite of the Airis yaks —along with our fishing kayak of choice: the Angler.
