Intex Seahawk Inflatable Boats - Perfect for the Family Vacation

Attractive and rugged, Intex Seahawk inflatable boats are inexpensive rafts for individuals and families. As part of Intex’s line of lake boats, the Seahawk II designs are new and improved with wider beams and larger weight capacity.

A Look at the Boats

The Seahawk line comes in sizes for 1, 2, 3, and 4-person. Intex Seahawk inflatable boats sell for under $100. The improved Seahawk II comes in 3 and 4 person models for around $125 to $160. The air chambers and floor are made with three separate layers of material: two outer layers of heavy-gauge PVC laminated to an inner layer of polyester mesh.

Features on the Intex Seahawk include all-around grab line, bow grab handle, welded rotary oarlocks, oar holders, inflatable cushions (300/400/II models), fishing rod holders, gear pouch, and U.S. Coast Guard I.D. Each inflatable boat comes with two aluminum oars and an air pump.

Standard features of the 4-person Seahawk II:

What Current Owners Say

Intex Seahawk 4-Person Boat

Intex Seahawk inflatables get good reviews and endorsements from satisfied owners who find them stable and comfortable in the water. Yet despite the wider beam on the 2009 models, the boats can still feel crowded. For example, the Seahawk II is advertised as a 4-person craft but there is no room for gear or day packs with that many bodies, even if two of them are kids. Four large adults will be quite cramped, but two fishermen and their gear will feel just right.

Other than space issues, reviewers remark favorably on how well the high-speed Boston valves work to quickly inflate and deflate the three main air chambers, and that the overall quality of Intex Seahawk boats was much better than they had anticipated.

What We Say

These inflatables are more rugged than similar boats in this price range. All Intex Seahawk models come with better valves and a tough 500-denier hull fabric, which is resistant to climate elements such as abrasion, saltwater, and UV rays. The material also holds up well to gas and oil spills. As for accessories, the pump is good, but we suggest you may want to invest in a better pair of oars as well as a good duffle-type carrying bag to replace what comes with the raft. Intex Seahawk inflatable boats offer good value for the price, and with proper care, should give you many years of use.
