Maxxon Inflatable River Rafts for Whitewater Adventure

First introduced in 2010, Maxxon inflatable river rafts are available in two lengths with capacity to carry 8 to 10 adults. For fishing, tendering, family fun, or whitewater river running, Maxxon rafts are built with performance and safety in mind.

A Look at the Rafts

The two Maxxon self-bailing rafts, the SB-380 and the SB-430, come complete with a set of paddles, bellows air pump, repair kit, and manual.

Superior Materials

Maxxon inflatable river rafts carry a 5-year bow-to-stern warranty on the fabric against defects, plus a 1-year warranty on workmanship. The self-bailing rafts are made of 1100 Denier PVC material topside and the bottom has 3200 Denier fabric to guard against abrasions and punctures; however, the extra layers also make the craft more difficult to roll up. The floor and bottom hull are gray to help disperse heat and sunlight.

Standard features include a 7" thick I-beam floor with pressure relief valves, 3/4" bailing scuppers (holes) located every 6" around entire floor, 10 foot loops for passengers, and grab lines and chafing pads around the seating area. The low rocker of 9" makes this an easy raft to paddle and maneuver. The two track-mounted thwarts are adjustable to almost any position, as well as removable.

Unfortunately, you won’t find many customer reviews of Maxxon inflatable river rafts on the internet as they have a more limited distribution in the highly competitive field of inflatable boats. Dealers and boat pros, however, will give the Maxxon line thumbs-up because of the ton of money you’ll save over more expensive hypalon rafts.

A Solid Mid-Priced Choice

Why buy an inflatable for $3,500 when the $1,999 SB-430 will do just fine and last for at least a decade? The PVC Maxxon self-bailing river rafts, with heat-resistant glued seams, will last 10 to 14 years if cared for properly. On the other hand, $1700 to $2000 may be more than you want to spend, but remember that a cheap inflatable will only save you a few hundred dollars and won’t be as reliable or perform as well out on the water. Other lesser quality rafts at half the cost will last only about 4 seasons. The Maxxon inflatable river rafts are a Good Buy.
