Heavy-Duty PVC Materials Used

The shell of the Saturn SD330 is abrasion and chemical resistant and holds up well to a lot of abuse. The 1100 Decitex polyester fabric has been coated on both sides with PVC. The bottoms of the tubes have a double layer of fabric and there is rub strake along the keel, which serves to increase the protection against abrasion, tears, and punctures.

For rugged reliability and under $1000 affordability, reviewers consider the Saturn SD330 inflatable boat to be a good deal for a PVC boat. You might be weighing the options of a better quality and vastly more expensive Hypalon boat versus a PVC boat, but if you intend to take your inflatable boat out of the water most of the time and store it deflated, it makes sense to go with PVC. The cheaper PVC won’t deteriorate as long as it is not exposed to prolonged direct sunlight. However, if you don’t want to deflate your Saturn SD330 inflatable, you should keep it stored under a boat cover, or treat it periodically with 303 Protectant spray to protect against harmful UV rays.

Saturn covers their boats with a 2-year warranty, which is a weak point, but there again, you save on the retail price with this shorter warranty. If you take care of your Saturn, it will last for 10 years or longer.

Great Performance

The Saturn SD330’s high-pressure inflatable air floor saves a lot of weight and is quite rigid and safe to stand on. You won’t feel much difference between it and a plywood floor – until you lift the boat out of the water and realize how lightweight and portable it is. Best of all, once you remove the motor, it deflates in seconds and folds up to a reasonable size of 45" x 22" x 15".

The 11' Saturn SD330 inflatable boat is a versatile craft for fishing, recreational use, or tendering yachts and sailboats. If you are only planning to use it occasionally, it makes sense to save money and go with a great deal on a Saturn, over a more expensive Hypalon craft.
