The Sevylor QuikPak K5 Inflatable Kayak – Best Design of the QuikPaks

The portable and lightweight Sevylor QuikPak K5 inflatable kayak folds down into its own backpack thanks to a unique storage design.

A Look at the Kayak

This kayak has a 5-minute set-up time from pack to put-in. Just unfold it, attach the dual-action hand pump to the leak-proof double-lock valve and start pumping. It’s that easy. The partial spray skirt can be added for protection over the front of the cockpit to help keep splash out.

Points to Consider

Sevylor QuikPak K5

The Sevylor QuikPak K5 inflatable kayak is a rugged 10' boat that is constructed of 900D polyester top and 1000D polyester laminated with a 24 gauge PVC bottom. The seams are electronically welded, not glued, for reliability and long-lasting performance. It is guaranteed not to leak as Sevylor’s exclusive Airtight System and Double-lock™ and Mini-Double Lock valves locks in air two ways for an airtight seam. The craft is certified by the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA).

Other nice features of the Sevylor QuikPak K5 include lift handles, bungee lacing, multiple D-rings, footrests, and a seat that converts to a backpack to pack up the kayak when deflated. The bottom fin and directional strake improve maneuverability on the water so this inflatable tracks much better than you would think.

Cons: The paddle is junk so do plan to buy a better one, and the pump nozzle does not fit securely while inflating.

What We Say

The lightweight Sevylor QuikPak K5 is an ideal length and rugged enough to put in remote waterways, and it comes with an attractive backpack carrying case to boot. The 23-pound inflatable kayak is the best design of the Quikpaks, a notion which many user reviews confirm. For $270, Sevylor must have felt the need to include a free pump and paddle but they are so worthless you wonder why the company bothered to pair such cheap items with an otherwise decent quality kayak. It would be better to sell the boat by itself and knock $30 off the price. Otherwise, the Sevylor QuikPak K5 inflatable kayak is a well-designed and good-looking craft that rates as a Good Buy.
